I can't say with complete certainty whether this watercolor was done long ago or somewhat more recently; I found him in this nice old gilded wood frame, behind glass and with more recently papered back, and haven't opened it up. It does look like he was painted on old ledger paper of some sort, with inked text showing through just a bit. Quite an excellent creature whatever the case, which I take for a goat, and which to me has a bit of a caves of Lascaux lyricism about him. Perfectly framed, and wonderfully resolved feeling.

5 1/4" x 4 3/8" x 1" framed. Sight: 3 1/4 x 2. All in very good condition.
